An "Authorized Person" (AP) is an individual, partnership firm, LLP, or corporate entity appointed by a stockbroker to grant access to a stock exchange's trading platform. Acting as an agent of the stockbroker, an AP facilitates trading in various segments of the exchange.

Regulatory Framework: According to SEBI Circular No. 702, dated November 9, 2009, an Authorized Person is defined as any individual, partnership firm, LLP, or corporate entity appointed by a stockbroker (including a Trading Member) to provide access to the trading platform of a Stock Exchange as an agent of the Stockbroker.
