How can I pledge my shares for collateral margin?

Process for Pledging:

Step 1: Access the 'HOLDINGS' page in the 'BOOK' section of your 5paisa Mobile app.

Step 2: Click on the Pledge/Unpledge button at your screen's bottom right. Select the shares you wish to pledge and click the 'Submit Request' button.


Step 3: An OTP authentication link will be generated and sent to your registered Mobile Number and Email ID from CDSL (Depository Participant).
Step 4: Click the link and enter your PAN or BOID (Demat account number). You can find your Demat account number in the App or web Profile section.



Step 5: After entering the PAN or BOID, a list of pending transactions for authentication will be displayed. An OTP will be generated and sent to your registered Mobile Number and Email ID. The OTP will remain valid for 15 minutes.

Step 6: Authenticate the transaction by entering the OTP. Once authenticated, the pledge will be marked in favour of 5paisa.

Step 7: Upon receiving your request, margin benefits will be provided on the same day.

Note: Pledge requests can also be made on the web trading platform. Login to 5paisa.com and click the "Pledge" button to create a pledge.

Reasons for Pledging: Pledges can be created for various purposes:

·       You can avail yourself of a margin funding facility to carry forward debit balances.

·       To obtain margin benefits for intraday exposure.

·       To use shares as collateral for positions in the derivative segment.
