How To link PAN with ADHAAR?

How to Link PAN with AADHAAR?

 
The Government of India has mandated the linking of the PAN with Aadhaar. As per the NSE & BSE Circular, your PAN must be linked to your Aadhaar on or before 31st March 2023.


Option: 1 

Follow the steps given below to link your Aadhaar with PAN Card- 

1.       Visit the link 

2.       Enter your PAN and Aadhaar number and click on 'Validate'

3.       Enter your PAN, Aadhaar number, and name as per Aadhaar in the relevant fields

4.       Enter the OTP and click on Validate

If your PAN is linked to your Aadhaar then you will get a message on the screen, "Your Aadhaar is linked with PAN"



Option: 2 


Send an SMS to 567678 or 56161 from your registered mobile number in the below mentioned format-

UIDPAN<SPACE><12-digit Aadhaar><SPACE><10-digit PAN>


Example- UIDPAN 123456789012 ABCDE1234F

As per the guidelines of the Ministry of Finance, taxpayers who have not linked their PAN with their Aadhaar as on 30th June 2022 may be required to pay a fee of ₹1000 to the Income Tax Department (ITD) before submitting their PAN-Aadhaar linkage request.

 

Please note that in case you fail to link your PAN to the Aadhar, your PAN shall become inoperative after 31st March 2023 and you will not be able to carry out any financial transactions thereafter. Further, you may also be subject to penalties as per Section 234H of the Income Tax Act, 1961.
