What are the market timings?

Pre-Open Session:

·        This session occurs before the regular trading hours and is designed to set opening prices and reduce volatility.

·        It begins at 09:00 hours, allowing investors to enter or modify their orders until 09:08 hours, with a random closure at the last minute. 

·        The pre-open order matching process starts immediately after the close of the pre-open order entry, determining the opening prices for stocks.

Regular Trading Session: 

·        The regular trading session is the main trading period where most of the buying and selling activity takes place. 

·        It commences at 09:15 hours and continues until 15:30 hours, providing ample time for investors to execute their trades in the equities market.

Closing Session: 

·        This session occurs after the regular trading hours, between 15:40 hours and 16:00 hours. 

·        It allows for the final adjustments and closing orders to be placed, ensuring smooth market closure.

After Market Order (AMO):

·        The AMO facility enables investors to place orders to buy or sell stocks for the next day's trading before the market opens.

FO Start Time: 3:30 PM
EQ & FO Stop Time: 8:55 AM

Please note: 

·        Trading on the equities segment is available on all days of the week except Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays declared by the Exchange in advance.

·        The Exchange reserves the right to modify trading hours or close/open the market on days other than scheduled holidays based on various factors such as market conditions and regulatory requirements. 

·        Additionally, there are certain constraints on the limit for placing orders in the Currency/Derivative segment, which may change over time to safeguard the interests of investors and minimise risks.
