Why was my dividend credited to Ledger instead of crediting to my bank account?

If you noticed that your dividend was credited to your ledger instead of directly to your bank account, it might be due to one of the following reasons:

1.     Pledged Stocks: If you have pledged your stocks with 5Paisa for F&O (Futures and Options) margins, 5Paisa holds those stocks on your behalf.

2.     Stock Sold on Ex-Date: If you sold the stock on the Ex-date, 5Paisa would have debited your stock and moved it to its pool account.

Since the stocks are in 5Paisa’s demat account on the Record Date, the registrar credits the dividend to 5Paisa. These dividends are periodically reconciled and credited to your trading account, which you can withdraw at your convenience.
